The Impact of Mulberry Fruit Extracts on Skin Aging: Comprehensive Assessments of Their Role in Hindering Glycation and Enhancing Antioxidant Functions, Both in Lab Tests and Real-World Applications.
The research focused on analyzing bioactive compounds from three sources: air-dried mulberry fruit (DMF), mulberry fruit juice (MFJ), and mulberry fruit pomace (MFP). This analysis included evaluating their impact on advanced glycation end-products (AGEs). The study revealed that extracts from DMF, MFJ, and MFP notably reduced AGEs in both fructose-BSA and MGO-BSA models. Compositional analysis indicated a positive correlation between phenolic content and antioxidant effectiveness. The study also explored how MFP extracts could counteract MGO-induced aging deficits in HaCaT cells.
