Researchers from Berlin University have identified a new active plasmid in antibiotic resistance of Staphylococcus aureus. The plasmid carries genes that confer resistance to multiple classes of antibiotics and could contribute to the spread of antibiotic resistance in Staphylococcus aureus and other bacteria.
